accomplish.
Professional Whitening
Professional whitening (or tray bleaching)
is one of the most commonly requested cosmetic dentistry
procedures today. In as little as two weeks, using Discus
Dental tray whitening systems, most stains from aging, foods,
drinks, and smoking are removed. Our office only uses Discus
Dental brand whitening products because they are the industry’s
leading manufacturer and distributor of professional dental
products. Some dentists use less known or less expensive
whitening products which many deliver unpredictable results
and increased sensitivity during bleaching.
In-Office Whitening
In-Office Whitening (using ZOOM
Whitening) is rapidly becoming more popular for patients
who want whiter teeth faster. This in-office whitening procedure
takes only two hours to complete but does not require any
dental anesthetic. Using a special light to accelerate the
whitening process this technique allows you to get the benefits
of two full weeks of tray bleaching in only 1 hour. While
the ZOOM whitening system does not get your teeth any whiter
than the conventional tray system (described above) it does
provide you with instant results.
Teeth Whitening with Veneers
Whitening teeth with porcelain
veneers is much more predictable than bleaching and
allows us to correct many other problems that bleaching
alone cannot. In this process, all visible front teeth are
usually covered with porcelain veneers (also called laminates).
Using this method, even the darkest teeth can be whitened
as much as the patient desires. This method also allows
us to correct chipped or crooked teeth and remove spaces
between teeth in as little as three visits, and all without
braces.
Please Note: Professional teeth whitening
results can last for many years, but It is important to
realize that bleaching restores your teeth to your unique
level of optimal whiteness (similar to what your teeth looked
like when you were a teen). However, to get your teeth many
shades whiter than ever before, or “Hollywood White”,
it is necessary to place porcelain
veneers.
