The Wand,
our computer controlled anesthesia machine, is one of
the most widely written about and published dental products
available on the market today. Prior to the introduction
of the Wand into the dental market, the syringe, a 150-year-old
technology, was one of the first methods to deliver local
anesthetics. Today, clinical research has shown that
this technology enables the dental practitioner to deliver
a practically painless injection of local anesthetic,
providing a more pleasurable experience for the patient
and an easier and safer method of delivery. Here
at the North Alabama Center for Cosmetic and General
Dentistry, the comfort of our patients is a top priority.
Since the injection is what many people fear the most,
we utilize the Wand in every treatment room and for all
procedures requiring anesthesia. This product is designed
to minimize anxiety by delivering an injection that many
of our patients report to be being painless. Now our
patients can be comfortable in the precise area(s) they
are to be treated. In fact, in some cases, the Wand makes
it possible to get the tooth numb without having the
tongue, cheek, lips or face affected… thus making it
very easy to resume most of your normal activities promptly
after your appointment. The Wand system consists
of a sterile, disposable handpiece component and a computer
controlled anesthetic delivery unit. The handpiece has
a light, pen-like handle that allows the doctor to have
pinpoint precision placement of the needle. Because the
system is computer-controlled it automatically delivers
local anesthetic at a precise pressure regardless of
tissue density and resistance. This anesthesia technology
results in a comfortable, controlled, effective, and
virtually pain-free injection.
Phase
Contrast Video Microscopy

offer unbelievably sharp pictures of the living bacteria
in under a minute. Video microscopy is to periodontal disease
what the intra-oral video camera is to restorative dentistry.

images of their own periodontal microflora providing unsurpassed
patient awareness. While microscopy cannot speciate bacteria,
it can detect a wider range of microorganisms and immunological
factors than any other test.
The Pro-Select³ is
a state-of-the-art scaler that significantly reduces the
need for hand instrumentation, plus an irrigation system,

Systems provide a 3-step approach to the prevention,
treatment and control of periodontal disease
by combining ultrasonics, ultrasonics with medicaments,
and heated sub-gingival irrigation. This
closed, multi-fluid system offers choices of purified

The Via-jet
Pro is specifically designed for both supragingival
and subgingival irrigation for patients to use at home
for the control and maintainence of periodontal disease.

features, reliable construction and use of the same
water pump found in professional models. Our brand
new, totally redesigned Via-jet PRO has host of
a new features making it even easier and more convenient
to use. The special cannula
adaptor allows a long, ultra slim tip to
irrigate all the way to the base of even the deepest
periodontal pockets. High thru Low settings for
maximum power (1,200 pulses/min) to a gentle spray
for tender gums.
