Huntsville Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry in Huntsville, AL

sedation dentistry Huntsville

Has dental treatment been difficult for you? Many patients have memories of rough dental treatment as a child, or when the dentist went ahead with treatment when they weren't numb, or other difficulties in the dental chair. Memories like this can make it very difficult to endure dental care, so many people put off needed treatment.  Unfortunately, dental neglect only complicates treatment options and usually increases treatment costs.

But with modern sedation dentistry techniques, this cycle can be broken. Once you've experienced sedation dentistry at Beasley Cosmetic and General Dentistry, you'll never be afraid to go to the dentist again. There are many benefits: Relief of dental anxiety, little to no memory of the visit, procedures lasting hours seem to pass in minutes, and combination of several visits into one are just some of the many benefits from choosing this option for your cosmetic, gum disease, root canal, dental implant, or general dentistry treatment.

Sedation dentistry employs "oral sedation", which means that you are relaxed, very sleepy, and indifferent to the dental work you are undergoing. Most people have little to no memory of their dental procedures while under oral sedation.

Sedation dentistry techniques allow us to do dental work that would normally take months in just one or two visits. This fast and easy solution is particularly appealing to people with extremely busy schedules, who might not otherwise be able to fit multiple dental appointments into their calendar.

These simple, safe techniques can be life changing - imagine chewing pain-free, or smiling without being self-concious! Make an appointment to talk to Dr. Beasley about making your dental work more comfortable and stress-free.

How Does Sedation Dentistry Work?

Before starting any treatment our staff will thoroughly review your medical history. On the day of your appointment, a companion will drive you to our office where you'll take medication - a single pill an hour prior to your dental appointment. Many patients feel no discomfort whatsoever during and after treatment and have little or no memory of the visit.

When you arrive in our office, you will be escorted into a comfort room, covered with a thick, warm blanket and placed on a specialized monitor to closely record your vital signs. Trained and experienced clinical team members will make certain that you're relaxed and completely comfortable during your entire visit.

Once your treatment begins, we will usually also administer nitrous oxide gas to strengthen the sedative effect. When your treatment is completed your companion will drive you home to rest for the afternoon.
