Porcelain
Veneers
Of all the choices available today for improving the appearance
and function of a patient's smile it is without question that bonded
all-porcelain veneers and crowns are among the most popular, predictable,
and successful. This process can be used to perfectly match a single
tooth needing to be restored, drastically whiten teeth, replace
missing teeth, fill spaces, and restore worn or broken biting edges.
All these conditions can be corrected in as little as 2-3 visits
over a period of four weeks and without braces. Bonded porcelain
restorations are not to be confused porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns
which are easily detected due to their dark gumline margins and
differing light reflectivity as compared to neighboring teeth.
Bonded porcelains restorations are the undetectable dental restorations
available today if the dentist is trained in the proper techniques
and an outstanding laboratory is used to create beautiful and natural
restorations.
Dr.
Beasley has attended countless hours of continuing education
classes on the art of smile design, preparation, and placement
of bonded porcelain restorations.
Porcelain
restorations are far superior to composite restorations because
they have greatly increased lifespan, appear exactly like natural
tooth enamel, and resist staining. The average life of porcelain
restorations is 10+ years and they never lose their color or
glossy appearance.
Composite
restorations usually have about ½ the lifespan of porcelain
and are prone to absorbing the stains of foods and drinks over
time. The average life of composites is 5-7 years and they
usually continue to darken as they age.
