Alabama Dentist - Braces, Gum Lift Surgery and Veneers
Kim previously had porcelain veneers on
teeth # 7, # 11, and # 12. Her existing veneers were around
17 years old and were not the appropriate length to give
her a feminine appearance. She was also beginning to have
exposed margins at her gum line due to gum recession.
In preparing for her new smile, Kim first
had braces by orthodontist Dr. Lew Sample to open her bite
and position her teeth more correctly. Next she had periodontist
Dr. Paul Weeks perform cosmetic gum lift surgery on teeth
# 5, # 6, # 7, # 11, and # 12. Gum lift procedures are very
helpful to make a much more full and attractive smile.
A computer imaging photo along with several
smile design records and other information were given to
Mr. Kreig DeGraff of D & M laboratory to aid in creating
the diagnostic wax-up.
Dr. Beasley and Kim evaluated temporary
crowns made from the diagnostic wax-up for proper aesthetics,
phonetics, function, and comfort. Kim also utilized a Viajet
oral irrigator daily during the time she was in temporaries
to aid in keeping her tissue healthy and clean interproximally.
All together, teeth #4 - #13 were restored
with porcelain veneers. All crowns were created by master
ceramist Mr. Kreig DeGraff of D & M Dental Arts, Merced,
California. Smile design and cosmetic dentistry performed
by Dr. R. Brad Beasley.
